Benefiting from people’s increasing awareness of environmental protection and the restrictive regulations issued by government departments in various countries, companies in the industry have accelerated the research and development and industrial application of environmentally friendly plastics. According to data from the European Plastics Manufacturers Association (PlasticsEurope), global plastic production increased from 265 million tons to 390 million tons from 2010 to 2021, with a compound annual growth rate of 3.58% and a stable growth rate.

From the perspective of regional distribution of global plastic product production, Asia is the region with the largest plastic product production in the world. The region’s plastic product production accounted for 52% of global plastic product production in 2020, which is much higher than the world’s second plastics market, North America Free Trade Area, and the world’s third largest plastics market, Europe. Among them, China is the country with the largest output of plastic products in the global and Asian plastics markets. In 2021, China’s plastic output accounted for 32% of the global plastics market, and the annual growth rate of output exceeded other countries and regions.
In addition, exports are a major part of my country’s plastics industry, and plastic products also face extensive export demand. In recent years, the functions of China’s plastic products have been effectively improved, the export volume of plastic products has increased steadily, and the export situation remains optimistic. In 2021, the national export volume of plastic products was US$98.990 billion, an increase of US$13.720 billion over the previous year. In 2022, the national export volume of plastic products will be US$107.81 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.90%.
