How to use the crisper properly to avoid wasting food

This is the most common type of crisper, usually made of plastic and transparent so you can see the ingredients inside. Plastic crispers work best when storing vegetables, fruits, breads and other non-crispy foods.

Before using the crisper, make sure it is clean and completely dry. This will prevent bacterial growth and food spoilage.

Don’t stuff too much food into the crisper, as this can lead to spoilage and sogginess. The crisper should only be filled about half full with food, leaving enough room for the food to breathe and allowing for ventilation.

For foods that need to be sealed, such as meat and biscuits, you need to ensure that the lid of the box is completely sealed to prevent air from entering and causing the food to spoil. Different foods require different preservation conditions. For example, vegetables require ventilation and lower humidity, while fruits require high humidity and lower oxygen levels. Therefore, according to different food types, choose the corresponding crisper for storage.
