Review and Prospect of Historical Development of China’s Plastics Industry
It has been more than 71 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. From the early days when everything was in need of improvement, it has now become the world’s largest industrial manufacturing country. China’s industry has followed the wheel of history and achieved leap-forward development. With economic growth and the rapid development of industrial technology, my country’s plastics industry has also made tremendous progress and achievements. The plastics industry is closely related to packaging, automobiles, electronics, medical equipment, construction, agriculture, food, aerospace and other fields. It promotes the development and progress of these industries and plays an increasingly important role in economic development and scientific and technological progress. Before liberation, my country’s total synthetic resin output was only more than 200 tons, with only two varieties: celluloid and phenolic resin. There are only about a thousand tons of plastic products. After 71 years, my country’s total synthetic resin output has grown rapidly. In 2019, my country’s synthetic resin output reached 103.553 million tons, and in 2020, the total output of plastic products reached 76.0322 million tons. China has become the world’s largest market for plastic production and sales, occupying an increasingly important position in the world’s plastics industry!
